Chris Ozburn was previously a partner with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, first in the Silicon Valley and, beginning in 1999, in Austin. He brings a wealth of expertise and experience in advising entrepreneurs, investors and companies. He has advised founders, management teams and boards on forming, operating and governing their businesses, especially in the technology and life science industries. He has advised companies on raising capital through public and private securities offerings and on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, as well as restructuring, workouts and bankruptcy. He has also advised individual investors, venture funds and companies on their investments in growth companies of all kinds.
He earned his BA from Yale in 1986 and his JD from NYU Law School in 1992. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and State Bar of California.
He has worked with entrepreneurs and their companies at all stages of growth, from ideas on the back of an envelope, to venture-backed startups, to publicly traded companies with operations around the world. Having built relationships with founders and investors early on, he has gone on to represent many companies as they have progressed through many, and in some cases, all of these stages. These long-term relationships have provided continuity, business understanding and expertise to his clients for every phase of their growth.
He has applied his corporate, financial and securities expertise to advise on those aspects of restructuring and workout transactions.
Over the course of his many years in the technology community, he has seen that the changing needs of entrepreneurs, investors and companies in this community can be better served by new approaches to providing legal services. Streusand, Landon & Ozburn aims to provide broad, deep expertise developed over years of experience to help clients achieve their business objectives in a cost-effective manner.
