James Landon’s practice involves the representation of clients in labor and employment, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation matters.

He represents clients in a full range of general labor and employment issues. He has experience in drafting employment policies and procedures, as well as the preparation of employment agreements, non-competition agreements, confidentiality agreements, severance agreements, and other documentation related to the employment relationship. He also assists clients with preventative counseling to help employers navigate the myriad of employment statutes and regulations. He has a wide range of experience in employment litigation, including defense of discrimination claims, Family and Medical Leave Act claims, retaliation claims, and litigation concerning non-compete and confidentiality agreements.

He also represents clients in complex bankruptcy matters. He has represented creditors in bankruptcy litigation, including preference/fraudulent transfer litigation, cash collateral proceedings, lift stay motions, and a variety of other bankruptcy-related proceedings. He also works with clients in the acquisition of assets from bankruptcy estates and with the collection of commercial debt.

In addition, he represents parties in complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts for a variety of disputes, including defense of securities fraud claims, litigation of contractual disputes, trade secrets litigation, and access cases under the ADA.

  • Representation of Western United Life Assurance Company, as a secured creditor, in a bankruptcy case
